First racehorse trainer to be elected to the Committee of the Penang Turf Club & Committee of the Malayan Racing Association in 1996.

Entered to the Guinness Book of Records for saddling seven winners for the same owner in one afternoon in 1991.

Earned notable mention in the first edition of the Malaysia Book of Records for the same feat.

First trainer to train a local-bred to win a classic event. Chens Stable's "Tuneful Melody" to win the 1991 Raffles Cup.

Earned a place in the New Zealand Hall of Fame as one of the top purchasers of highest priced yearlings.

Retired in 1995 in grand fashion by annexing the blue riband of the turf, the S$650,000 Singapore Gold Cup with Grand Jury. Other classics won in the final term were the S$500,000 Emirates Singapore Derby, the S$250,000 Queen Elizabeth II Cup, the RM350,000 Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Gold Cup, all with Courtline Jester, the S$250,000 Raffles Cup with Starman II and the RM250,000 Tunku Gold Cup with Grand Jury.
