Tun Dato' Seri Dr Lim Chong Eu

Tun Dato Dr Lim Chong Eu's achievements and accomplishments as the former Chief Minister of Penang are public knowledge and need no elaboration. Amongst the "greats" would be Penang Bridge, KOMTAR and Penang's very own silicon valley.

On the horse racing scene he was the co-breeder of several good horses together with Mr Jerry Sung, Dato Lee Saik Kee and Mr Teh Choon Beng.

One of those excellent horses was Storm (Kingdom Bay - Yale) which won the Silver Cup and Raffles Cup in Singapore in 1993, a Batu Gantong trained filly which blew away all opposition with a runaway win at the Bukit Turf Club, Singapore. She grabbed a piece of local turf history when she became the first three year old to win a classic race on the Malaysia-Singapore circuit, capturing the S$150,000 Silver Cup for Class 1 sprinters under 1400m.

One week later, Storm clinched the S$250,000 Raffles Cup for Class 1 milers over 1600m. By pulling off a double, Storm raced into the record books of Bukit Timah as the first three year old to win both feature classic races at a single meeting.
